And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? (2 Corinthians 6:15, KJV)
Indeed time have changed and events too are changing so drastically and rapidly that secularity has become the new way of life to some and have also started eating into the Christian faith!
Prior to now, decency, modesty, virtuousness, conscious and cautious living were all part of the Christian lifestyle, faith, believes and practices that by just a mere glance, you would know that a brethren was indeed a brethren, even before they altered a word. This is not so anymore!
Infact, worldly lifestyle has become a part of some church that if you can’t join them, you get lost!
Ask some people today why they go to church on Sunday and you will get responses that will shock you. Some see the church as one of those places you have to be on Sunday. Some think it will be boring being at home while others would be in church. Some think its a good place to make friends and some others think they can get a girlfriend or boyfriend there.
Another killer now is the way and manner “Christians” sing and dance to secular songs. Some even boldly play it in church now use the excuse of; “should we rather go and do it outside?”
Secularity have no religious or spiritual basis!
Today’s reading says you cannot serve God and the devil at the same time. As a matter of fact, John 1:5 says when light (Jesus) comes in, darkness (the devil) goes out.
Do you still think it does not matter? Hear the Word of God;
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. – Galatians 6:7-8
Roman 12:1-2 says;
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Now ask yourself the question;
WHO DO I REALLY SERVE?
