WHEN SIN TAKES ROOT!

image

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; (Hebrews 12:15, KJV)

They say what the elders see while sitting, a young man can not see when standing on a tall building.

In my teen age and in my 20’s, with the energy and fire of that stage of life burning in my bones, I did so many things I wish I never did. Things I could have easily avoided if I had listened to simple instructions. Because when chastised, I felt those advising me don’t know “WHAT’S UP”. As a matter of fact, I thought they were too old to understand, forgetting they had gone through that stage too and have seen what the consequences of my action and didn’t want me to make mistakes.

The truth is, there are a lot of struggles in a man’s life that are self caused but are leveraged upon by the devil.

I had a very close friend whom we use to smoke back then. While we hid to smoke, he cared less and did it anywhere. When I gave up smoking and tried to advise him, he wouldn’t listen, instead went deeper. And today, your guess is as good as mine.

There are people fighting battles today that they have no business fighting in the first place, if only they listened.

Speaking with some young men in my neighbourhood who were towing same path as I did in the past, I told them my testimony, while others had reasons to change, one deeply defended his ungodly lifestyle, little did he know that when sin takes root, the battle becomes tougher. So sadly as I write this message, he roams the same neighbourhood having become mad from smoking India hemp.

2 Timothy 2:22 says:

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness…

Because once sin takes root, you would rather you never started in the first place.

“Sin leaves you worse than it met you.”

They say it is better to take advise than to be used as advise to other.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 11:15)

A word they say is enough for the wise.

May God give you understanding!

It is well with you!
