“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27, KJV)
There is the kind of peace that the world gives and that which comes from God.
The peace that comes from the world is temporal while divine peace is eternal.
Divine peace is all encompassing. It is God’s blessings on those who belong to His covenant family.
Divine peace is knowing that the Lord God Almighty; Creator of the universe is by your side.
Even the world with all it’s facade cannot give anyone true peace because it can only give what it has; a facade!
True and lasting peace only comes from God, that is why John 16:33 says:
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Peace is not just knowing, it is also living in the consciousness of God’s abiding presence with us. And it is living in the assurance that He will never leave us, matter what.
In a world where struggle, greed, selfishness and human wants sometimes becloud the natural mind, we need to be reminded that they do not give peace.
What are you struggling with or what is that which wants to steal your joy? Rest in God’s arm, He will give you peace.
The Lord did not assure us of a struggle free life but He did assure us that in it all He is with us and He assures us of a peace that passes all understanding. Such that the world cannot give.
Are you worried or downcast? Take it to the Lord in prayer and He will come through for you.
I pray for you child of God, from today, you will enjoy the God kind of peace. That which is beyond human comprehension, in Jesus Precious Name!
Prayer Point: Father, please let my heart be stayed on you and help me to enjoy the peace that can only come from you, in Jesus Name!
