He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. (Job 5:12, KJV)
In Ephesians 6 and verse 11, the Word of God tells us the devil has wiles. And wiles are the devious or cunning stratagems employed in manipulating or persuading someone to do what one wants. That is why when you see some people do somethings, they think they are the ones doing them, but in the real sense it is the devil getting them to do the things he wants.
Wiles can also be called tactics or devices, which means the devil have some devices he uses and Ephesians 6:11 says to put on the whole armour of God so we can stand the wiles of the devil.
To put on the armour of God means to be totally in submission to His dictates, laws and commands. As we know, it is only those who are in battle that uses armour and God’s Word says we in a battle with unseen forces; Ephesians 6:12. In the military, orders are to be obeyed to the latter, whether or not they suit us. So is the Christian race, after putting on the armour of God, we must follow His divine orders if not we will fall into the snares (ambush) of the enemies if we rely only on the armour. That is why soldiers do not just dress in camoflage, carry guns and bombs and begin to wonder in the battle field. They follow orders if they must stand a chance of survival.
In the military, only experience generals and high ranking officers who have tasted several battles are allowed to lead. So are we expected allow our GREAT Commander in Chief lead, and we are to follow to the latter His commands, the Bible says when we do so, He will disappoint the devices (wiles) of the devil so their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
I pray, as you put on God’s armour and follow His orders totally in these last days, that you will not fall prey to the wiles of the devil and his agents.
It is well with you!
