And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15, KJV)
Have you ever thought for a moment what will happen if you slept and woke up dead? Funny right? And I know a lot of people will say “God forbid!” But the truth remains that death is inevitable for all. As far as you are alive, you must die someday except Jesus comes in His glory and majesty. And even if He does and your name is not found written in the book of life, then it will be another story all together.
The bible says;
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)
The truth remains that where you go when you die depends on you. You can decide to go through the narrow path by living holy to make heaven or go through the highways of life and end up in hell. Hell was not meant for mankind neither was it meant for you. So why live carelessly when you still have the choice of making your ways right with God?
In December, my Father, Daddy GO; Pastor E. A. Adeboye said in the Open Heaven devotional that a lot of people work hard to have their names written in the “Guinness Book of World Records” but if after all their hard work they eventually succeed in having it there and they die without their names being in the “Book of Life” all their efforts would only have amounted to nothing!
He went further to say your name may not be found in the Guinness Book, but being in the “Book of Life” is must important.
Would you rather find your name in the Guinness Book and not in the Book of Life?
… Work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12), because hell is not where you want to go.
I pray, as we work out our salvation, may the good Lord give us the grace to endure until the very end, in Jesus name!
It is well with you!
