For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. (Proverbs 23:7, KJV)
When battles are fought between two nations, the length or duration of the war is dependent on the military strength of both nations. And in cases where one nation lacks the ability, probably the financial resources needed to win the war or the military well withal to do so, it invites her allies to support in battle.
One of my Mentors and Father in the Faith, Bishop David Abioye, once said; “LIFE is WARFARE and not FUN FAIR.” Many Christians today take life with levity. They live carelessly and wonder why they seem to be losing their battle.
The Bible says in Romans 12:2:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
One of the killer blows the devil deals most Christians in their battle today is “WORLDLY CONFORMATION!”
Worldly conformity has become the new normal of our time. You cannot defeat an opponent playing his game.
The bible tells us in Romans above that to win life’s battles, we ought to renew our minds. To renew our minds means “EATING the WORD!” By eating, I mean to study the Word intensely and thereby live the Word, not just the use daily devotionals, but by digging deeper to unravel the mysteries of the Word as revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
The Word of God say in James 4:8:
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
The above passage means to develop a relationship with God.
We cannot win the battle of life alone without an ally, and allegiance means having a relationship.
Even though we battle daily, we know the truth, that light will always overcome darkness. Jesus is light; you need Him! So if you are not born again, now is the accepted time. Confess with your mouth, believe in your heart and you will be saved!
