Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2, KJV)
I have heard and received a lot of calls and well wishes, praying and thanking God for our survival, even up till this time of the year, but my question is; is that all?
Indeed I am happy and grateful to God for having spared our lives and those of our families, friends and loved ones but I make bold to say that that’s not all God wants for us. In this season of joy and merry making, even as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, not only does God want us to celebrate being alive to witness the event, but for us also to count our blessings.
See what the above passage says;
“… I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper…”
So it is God’s will for us to be prosperous this season because it is only a merry heart that can indeed appreciate the reason for the season; Psalms 103:1-5.
Verse 5; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
A satisfied mouth is that mouth that is satisfied with the returns he has made for the year and can adequately provide for and carter for its needs, not just being alive!
Luke 2:14 says;
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men”
The birth of Christ brought peace unto mankind and good will towards men; godly achievements!
The general idea is, God does not want us to just survive, He also wants us to thrive!
In the season of festivity, I pray that our God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will increase you on all sides that you may become for others a channel of blessings. And as the end of this year draws near, even as we anticipate the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, you will step into the New Year with multiple blessings in Jesus name!
Don’t just survive, keep thriving!
It is well with you!
