STRUGGLING WITH GOD?

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. (Job 32:8, KJV)

Life has taught me never to struggle with God when I should be listening to His leading.

There are times we desire some things desperately in our hearts and we pursue after them with all vigour but somewhere, somehow, deep within we know we shouldn’t but because of our deep level of covetousness, lust and cravens for them, we toss the leading of the Spirit aside and just continue running after them.

Sometimes we know without any shadow of doubt that God has said “NO” but for where?! We must get it anyhow! And we forget that God knows it all and does not want us to make mistakes, yet we still won’t listen and because of His unfailing love towards us, not wanting us to sorrow through life, He makes it difficult for us to reach them just when we think we have. Then and only then do we go back to our drawing boards (our knees in prayer and Word study) to restrategize, as soon we realize it’s all been God saying “NO son, I don’t want you to die before your time.”

I don’t know what you have been struggling to get at all cost. Is it a particular job? A relationship? A business? Or even admission to a particular school? Whatever it is, listen to what God is saying. That difficulty may just be God trying to draw your attention towards the consequences of what your heart desire may bring to you at the long run.

What are you struggling with? Go on your knees and ask God for clarity.

May God help us not to make those mistakes that will cost our lives, destiny and ultimately, destruction in hell, in Jesus Name!
