Faith without work is playing without knowing. Any Faith that commits God to do it 100% is foolishness. God gave you brain so you can give Him rest. You have a role to play in God’s covenant, and until you play your role, God is not committed to perform. All the above are quotes by My father, Bishop David O., Oyedepo and they all talk about doing. Man has a role to play in the Faith process because God does not do things in isolation and that is why the passage above talks about us being doers, if not we would be deceiving ourselves. In John 2:3-7, when they needed wine at the wedding, they had to play their role for Jesus to play His. Same is true for Elijah and Elisha in 1 King 17:12-13 and 2 Kings 4:2-4. Those trusting God for His intervention in these passages played a role. Even Jesus Christ played His role in the redemptive process by dying on the cross. Today we all want Healing, deliverance, divine provision, etc, but do not want to play a role in the process. We want God to saddle the responsibility 100% and that my friend is self deception. There are those who claim to need God’s intervention on certain issues of life, but their lives are exactly the opposite of what God requires of them, yet they go about seeking prayers when they need to be repositioned to God. The food of the children is not meet to be cast unto dogs… for those that are without are dogs. So to get God’s intervention, you must play by His rules by first surrendering your life to Jesus and becoming His child, and afterwards, follow His ordinance because… God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)
As you play your role in God’s agenda for your life, may you begin to live in the miraculous in Jesus Name!
