RESISTING THE DEVIL!

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. (Job 1:6, KJV)

The passage above says the day that the sons of God came to present themselves to the Lord satan also came among them. Why then did devil come on that day?

Many Christians believe once they are born again, then the devil has no right in their lives, yes, that is true, but they also forget that it is their personal responsibility to live within the covering of God by resisting the devil when he comes tempting.

The bible says in James 4 verse 7 that first you must submit yourselves to God which means to accept Jesus Christ into your life and be born again then you can now go ahead to resisting the devil.

To resist means to withstand or to fight against something; an opposition.

There can not be a resistance if there is no opposition. And when we are faced with the troubles of life, we are expected to face them head on in battle, not chicken down in defeat. And to defeat an opposition, we are expected to be properly equipped.

It is also truth that God does not tempt us, but He sometimes allow us face certain oppositions in other for His will to be fulfilled in our lives. That is why when His children gathered and the devil gathered amongst them, God did not rebuke Him, instead He was delighted to introduce His humble servant. But in Jude 9, the bible says:

“Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”

We are expected at all times to make our declarations based on God’s Word.

So the next time you are confronted with challenges, submit yourself unto God, hold on to His Word, resist the devil and he will flee from you.

It is well with you!
