And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. (Matthew 14:28, KJV)
Our words when spoken cannot be retrieved. I have heard people curse others in anger and later say “I take it back” and we know for a fact that words spoken cannot be retrieved!
There is great power, creative power in the words we speak, hence it is important that we watch our words.
When I was growing up, I knew a woman who ran a restaurant and was assisted by her daughters. One was very little at that time, the other was an adult. And whenever they made a mistake she would yell; “ASHAWO (prostitute)” at them. The grown up one would quickly reject it, but the innocent little one would just keep quiet and gaze at her mum. Just recently, I went to visit around that neighbourhood and I saw a lady dressed so indecently and upon enquiry, I discovered the little girl had grown to become a prostitute.
Peter did not walk on water as it were, but on the Word Jesus spoke and when he turned away from the Word; Jesus, he sank!
Most of the miracles Jesus did was by His Word. In Mark 5:13, He cast out a legion of demons out of a man. In Mark 5:41-42, He restored a dead damsel to life. And in John 11:43, He called Lazarus back to life. And so many other miracles did He do just by His Word.
The same power and even more has been given unto us when we know our rights in Christ through His Word and exercise them. – John 14:12
When we know our rights, we will not need to struggle with the devil, instead we will command dominion over him and in every issues of life!
I do not know what you are going through right now, or that which seem to have almost weigh you down, but by the Word of the Lord, I decree a total turn around and complete restoration upon you and all that concerns you NOW, in Jesus name!
Receive the tough of God.
It is well with you!
