POWER IN HIS NAME!

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19, KJV)

Bible scholars have told us that the King James Version translation of the bible translates many words consistently but not the Greek word for “Power” and “Authority”.

According to these scholars, the above passage should read: Behold I give unto you AUTHORITY… and over all the POWER…

While Power is your ability to influence or control people, Authority is given by a higher mandate to enforce “COMMAND”.

The above translation is applicable in John 1:12;

But as many as received him, to them gave he “AUTHORITY” to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

And in Philippians 2:9-10, the Word says:

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

Halleluyah… what authority we have in His Name!

Having known this, it is vital to state that as children of the Most High God we do not operate with power, but with authority. And with authority comes command so when we deal with the forces of darkness we do not struggle with them, we issue commands and they obey!

One night I got a call from a friend who said he was feeling as though he had swallowed needles and was in pains. I did not waste a minute in exercising my authority as God’s child in casting it out and in a few hours he called back and gave thanks to God.

It is also important to note that with authority comes responsibility;

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19)

Having authority is not enough, but exercising it is what puts you above!

From today, I see you exercising the authority that goes with your redemption, in Jesus Precious Name!
