“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (Proverbs 4:23, NLT)”
To be diligent means a careful and persistent work or effort.
So God is saying to us in the above verse to carefully and persistently guard our hearts against filth, because it is what determines the course of our lives.
No human being was created by God to be useless, but people end up being useless, in lack, poverty, stagnated and even frustrated because they lack the capacity to engage their spirit, so they do not see beyond their current realities. No wonder Proverbs 23:7 says:
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”
So we are as good as what we are in the inside!
For clarity, the heart and mind or spirit and soul are not the same.
While the heart and the spirit are the same, the mind and the soul are the same and can be used interchangeably. And while our spirit or our heart is the medium through which God communicates with us, the mind or soul is our intellect.
So one of the reasons why some people are poor is because they have confined their spirit and cannot receive anything from the Spirit of God, thereby rendering their minds redundant!
Job 32:8 says:
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
And Proverbs 20:27 says:
“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
The Spirit of God interfaces with our spirit to feed us with information that our mortal minds cannot conceive, and this process is what is called “REVELATION”, because these deep things are revealed by the Spirit of God, then our natural mind or intellect processes the information that were fed to our spirit to produce physical result or what we call manifestation. However, to have access to this realm, we need faith!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1, KJV)”
And faith comes by hearing God’s Word, not by word of mouth or by self effort – Romans 10:17
Our faith in God, through His Word, helps us see into the reality of what He has planned for us and how glorious our future is, and then we act in accordance. That’s why faith calls those things which are not as though they were – Romans 4:17
But for fear of the unknown, a lot have become paralysed, others are in their comfort zones while some have become incapacitated due to the words spoken to them.
I for one, lived in a lie for so many years, because someone close to me told me I was a fool at 14, hence I would be a fool forever, and at that tender age, I swallowed that lie until God delivered me in adulthood. So we must be careful of who and what we listen to. But thank God for the power in God’s Word that sets free! By the help of God, the difference between I and the fellow is visible!
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36, KJV)”
However, having been set free, you must begin to renew your mind by God’s Word!
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2, KJV)
Through the help of the Holy Spirit and with a firm decision for a change, we must consistently guard our hearts against filth, renew our minds through God’s Word, kick off fear of the unknown and begin to see into the future before they manifest.
The poverty of the mind has kept a lot of people locked out of those things they already have by divine provision, because they cannot see. Others, for fear of what would become of them if they move, have become incapacitated!
But I pray for you, beloved, receive grace to move from glory to glory, in Jesus Name!
I declare upon you, every limitations in your mind is hereby destroyed, in Jesus Name!
From today, may the Spirit of God begin to bear witness with your spirit, in the Name of Jesus!
May your mind be renewed, may your spirit stay in tune with the Spirit of God and begin to receive divine direction, in Jesus Precious Name!
You are blessed!
Prayer Point: Father, by the help of the Holy Spirit, revive me and keep poverty and lack away from me and my family, in Jesus Precious Name! Amen.
Shalom!
