NEED A BREAKTHROUGH?

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might… (Ecclesiastes 9:10, KJV)

To breakthrough means to make a major progress or to overcome some obstacle.

A story was told of a man who went to church and prayed; “Dear God, I need to win a contract. I am counting on you Lord.” One week later the man came back to church and prayed; “God, I still have not gotten any! Why now?” A year later, he still had nothing so he came back to pray; “Dear God, give me a break now! I need a contract” Suddenly the heavens opened and a voice said; “My son, you too give me a break! Submit a proposal and I will make your proposal pull through!

LESSON: Our God is a miracle worker and not a magician. He will play His part if you play yours.

A friend once said a dream without action is a wish.

You cannot trust God for a breakthrough without first committing yourself to work, and it is sad to say that many Christians today want breakthroughs by doing nothing.

If God blesses a man for doing nothing then He would not only be encouraging laziness, but also contradicting Himself. Is it not His Word that says:

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;” (Romans 12:11)

Our God is not lazy and that has been proven in the account of creation. (Genesis chapter 1 – chapter 2 verse 3)

It is anti-scripture to want God’s blessings without work. No wonder 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says:

“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

It is only a sluggard that would sit down, cross his leg and fold his hands then wait for manna to fall from heaven; no food for lazy man! (Proverbs 6:9-11)

If to breakthrough means to make a major progress or to overcome some obstacle, why then should anyone expect to succeed by doing nothing? No wonder Proverbs 10:22 says “God’s blessings makes rich” and we know riches only comes through hard work, if not the wealthy men in the world would be lazing around if riches comes without work.

Do you need breakthrough from God? Then do your bit and leave the rest to Him, and He will make everything beautiful for you in His set time!
