Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. (Romans 8:37, KJV)
To conquer means to defeat and a conqueror is a person or a group of people that go out of their way to destroy other groups or individuals to obtain their possessions.
For there to be a defeat then there must have been a battle because without a battle how then can one become a conqueror?
Ephesians 6:12 says:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
That’s a battle. And 2 Corinthians 10:4 says:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.
In those days, when an empire defeats their enemy, they take over their territories but when a stronger enemy comes, they take over those who had conquered and their enemies.
As believers we do not only fight and win battles or conquer our enemies because conquerors can be conquered with time but we are more than conquerors; we subdue because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world; 1 John 4:4!
Definitely trials will come, but we have to live with the consciousness of the fact that we have overcome the trials through Jesus Christ before they even come.
As you go about your day with the consciousness that you have overcome whatever challenges before they come, I pray the Lord to give you victory round about in Jesus name!
It is well with you!
