And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (1 John 2:3, KJV)
According to the above passage, we can attest to the fact that we know God “if” we keep His commandments. It is a choice; if. So we can also decide not to keep His laws and thus deny the knowledge of Him. In John 14:15, the Word of God says:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
It is one thing to claim to know Him and another to really love Him. How can we love God? 1 John 4:20 says:
“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
Love is a verb, an act we physically express, not just by words and Jesus showed us its true meaning on the cross.
Have you indeed shown God how much you love Him by caring for that man or woman in need of your support and encouragement?
Matthew 25:45 … Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
As you go about your day today, genuinely make a decision to sow something good into someone’s life. That little word of encouragement may go a long way. And as you do, the one who rewards us in secret will surely make things get better for you! It is well with you. Good morning.
