Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22, KJV)
Last night I asked God to give me a Word for the students in one of the schools where God has been using us and this morning He gave me the word “UNDERWEAR” and the account of Joseph in Genesis 39 came heavy in my heart so I decided to look up the meaning of the word and got this: Underwear are clothes worn under other clothes, often directly next to the skin, but may comprise more than one layer. They keep outer garments from being soiled by bodily secretions and discharges, shape the body, and provide support for parts of it. What struck me was “They keep outer garments from being soiled by bodily secretions and discharges.”
So there are things that can soil your destiny one of which is sexual immorality!
Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers and was made an overseer in Potiphar’s house. A time came when Portiphar’s wife wanted him to lie with her and the bible says in verse 12 that she got his garment but he ran away with his virtue, not wanting to soil his garment.
1 John 2:16 says For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Sexual immorality is one of the most prevailing forces in the world today, pre-marital and extra-marital affairs, humans with animals, men to men and women to women have become the norm of the times.
You may have taken off your underwear and have laid with Portiphar’s wife but God can restore you. We at one time loved the world but thank God we did not die in the process. Jesus still delivers and He would if you would let Him.
Your virtue is important to God and what He is saying today is “KEEP YOUR UNDERWEAR ON.”
May the Lord give you grace to stand in these trying times, even if it means standing alone, in Jesus Name!
It is well with you!
