And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. (Luke 5:31, KJV)
Back in the days when I was a young chap, my father would always say that the taste of the pudding is in the eating. So it is with salvation. The essence of redemption is not in being churchy, but in having a quality personal walk with Jesus Christ as you fellowship with other believers in building a stronger Faith base. Salvation goes beyond church activities or titles, it is a continuous conscious effort in walking upright in line with God’s divine instructions.
It is necessary to call to mind the fact that Jesus did not come for the necessarily come for the saved, but the unsaved, because those that are whole need not a physician. It is also true that today the church is very sick because a lot of folk have fallen off the race but would rather go on without help, thinking they can do it alone.
Jesus came to save the unsaved and give grace to the saved to finish well. As God’s creation, we must realise that He alone can quench our thirst for wholeness (righteousness), not man and certainly not self, and give us grace to run and finish well.
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. – John 4:14.”
So perhaps you are reading this and you know you are not born again, now is the time for salvation. Or maybe you are struggling or have even given up, there is still grace to continue. To be saved or to reconnect to the Giver of Grace for the race, why not say:
Lord Jesus, wash me with Your blood. Renew my spirit and make me whole again. Thank You for being my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus Name!
If you hold on to Jesus you will certainly get there.
It is well with you!
