If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (Colossians 3:1, KJV)
The book of Acts 11:26 tells us where the disciples of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour were first called Christians. It is important for us to know that the disciples before being called Christians never called themselves Christians, but the people around saw and knew they were followers of Christ the King by their way of life.
The scripture passage above admonishes us that if we are risen up with Christ, our attention should be placed on heavenly matters, that is, to do things and follow that which pleases God. But these days people want to satisfy their evil intents, possess material things at all expense, please and gratify fleshly desires and lust, then end up saying; I’m a Christian. Notice the passage says “IF.” Its a condition, so we can decide not to follow after God’s will. God doesn’t force Himself on anyone, His word is a guide and it is only those that needs direction that will follow.
From today, decide to make your life count for Christ by your deeds and action and I can assure you that all will certainly get better for you!
It is well with you.
