And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. (1 Kings 18:36, KJV)
The times we live in is such that people crave and pursue after miracles. I once heard a man of God say; people troop to church special services not because they love the God of the church but for what they can get from Him. Miracles, signs and wonders are not magic, but God’s supernatural intervention on issues that are beyond man’s solution and sometimes to prove to man that He is still God and has never changed. But in all, miracles signs and wonders are to serve a purpose. The bible says in John 4:48;
“Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.”
And that was exactly the case of Elijah in 1 Kings 18:37 when he said;
“Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.”
God is a God of purpose and I believe for Him to have even kept you alive to see today then indeed He has a purpose for keeping you. And I pray that your purpose in life will manifest in Jesus name!
Verse 39 of our reading today tells us that the people fell on their faces and declared that God is God indeed after they saw signs.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that the purpose of God manifests mightily in your life that people will see and declare that indeed God is God as a result of His power in your life, in Jesus mighty name!
It is well with you!
