HAVING YOUR NEEDS MET!

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19, KJV)

I believe a lot of us have read the above passage, over and over again. But most times we miss a vital point in the passage and when we pray to God for something, most times we pray over wants instead of needs. Apostle Paul emphasised the word need, and in verse 11 he said:

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

He knew what he needed over those that he wanted.

Want is to have a desire to possess or to do something that one has no use for at a point in time, but wanting to have it because others do. Need is a situation when someone must do or have something at a point in time.

From the above, it is clear that want is propelled by greed because most times we do not really need what we pray for, and God, being all knowing does not grant them.

Paul said in verse 19 that God shall supply what we need, not what we want. In the world today, most people know what they want but do not know what they need. Paul said God will supply your need… which means you must know what you must have per time and earnestly seek God’s face concerning it, in doing so God will look down and say: “My child is asking correctly” and speedily delivers it to you.

In Jesus Name, I pray, from today, may God give you the wisdom to ask correctly for those things that you really need, not want.

It is well with you!
