If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (Daniel 3:17-18, KJV)
The above passage tells us how courageous and strong the three Hebrew boys; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were, and how they held on to their Faith, even in the face of trial and possible death, yet did not bend.
The bible says in Philippians 2:5;
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus”
Today, when confronted by a little challenge we quickly back down, forgetting that the Christian race is a call to battle, not to funfair. But the uniqueness of the battle is such that we have been declared the winners before the battle began, but it is left to us to retain the title by fighting. As a matter of fact, no heavy weight wrestler retains his championship belt without a fight.
The mind of Christ is a battle conscious mind. How do I know?
Paul said:
He endured the hardship and humiliation even unto death on the cross. (Paraphrased) – Philippians 2:5.
Calling to mind that before His death He prayed to the extent that He began to sweat blood. – Luke 22:44
To some, maybe that is just another miracle, but the reality of it is that He knew the battle ahead was not an easy one thus ended up saying “thine will be done” verse 42.
The mind of Christ is such that when we go through trials, we must remember that the will of God will be done at the end if we can hold on.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul said he would rather glory in His infirmity because he knew that within such trials, God’s strength is made manifest.
No matter what you are going through, still hold on and at the end God’s strength will perfect your every weakness.
