In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV)
Besides the fact that we were created to give thanks to God, thanksgiving not only push God to bless us more, it also stirs Him to protect all He blesses you with; Proverbs 10:22.
Why should I give thanks to God when things are not going my way? Someone may ask.
Have you considered the fact that you are still alive? Many slept like you did last night but they did not wake up as you did this morning.
At least appreciate God for the gift of life.
Sometimes we struggle through somethings, not because God does not see them, but because those things were actually meant to build and shape us into the form that God wants us to be and we feel God does not see us or even want to help us instead of giving Him thanks for what He is doing.
Immediately after being robbed at gun point last year, all I was saying was “thank you Jesus!” And my friend whom I went to visit when robbed was surprised and said but you’ve just be robbed! My response was what is they had shot us?
We must learn to look beyond our current circumstances and thank God for the seen and unseen. One thing life has taught me is that no matter how terrible or trying a time is, God most surely have things working for my good and whatever He does He calculates to work for my good.
What are you going through today? Will you still thank Him?
It is well with you.
