If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? (1 John 4:20, KJV)
It is a very common trend these days to hear people say they are in love with God when indeed their actions negates their claims. A lot of people flock our churches today to dance, praise and give offerings to God but after that, everything goes back the same way as was left earlier because they do not understand the true essence of loving God. In today’s passage, the word of God says we can not claim to love God yet hate those around us, those that constantly wrong and hurt us. Luke 17:4 says if your brother sins against you 7 times and apologises 7 times forgive him, but humans will say; “NO WAY!!! I forgave you earlier but not this time.” What if God decides not to forgive you this time also, would it not be fair enough? Brethren, as you go about your day today, please show some love to that stranger you meet and when someone hurts you, smile at him and say I’m sorry even before he does and you’ll be amazed how you will lighten someone’s day and also save yourself of hurts and pains. As you go about your day today, the Lord God Almighty will show forth His love towards you and things will get better for you! It is well with you. Good morning.
