Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6, KJV)
One other version of the Bible says “Do not be anxious about anything…” while another says “Fret not about anything…” In my own words, I can say the above passage simply says “do not worry or bother yourself about anything” which indeed is true because worries have never been known to solve any problem, rather it compounds them. Worrying about something even makes it more critical because it blinds us from thinking right. So why worry at all?
Here the word of God is saying that instead of being worried we should pray and give thanks unto our Maker.
Why do we need to give thanks to God in the midst of troubles? First it is important to know that when we give thanks to God in the midst of challenges, it elevates our spirit. It also shows that we trust God absolutely, even in trouble times.
A song writer said; “Today o! I will lift up my voice in praise, for I know He is always there for me. No matter what I face, when “trouble” comes my way I will praise you Lord.
But today people have changed the song to when “SUCCESS” comes my way, meaning they don’t need God in trouble times, only when things are fine!
The Bible says in Psalms 55:22 that we should cast our burdens on God and was resounded in Proverbs 16:3 and 1 Peter 5:7, to give us the absolute assurance that God means business when He says He cares for us.
What are you worried about? Or what is it that seems to heavy for you to carry? Do not shoulder that pain yourself, God wants to help. He says to bring it to Him, so take it all to Him in prayer and then begin to thank Him for prayer answer because He said in Numbers 14:28 that, that which we speak to His ears will He hear and will do for us.
As you go about your day today, cast your cares on Him and wear a winner smile because indeed you are WINNER!
