BEING DILIGENT!

And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. (Genesis 39:3, KJV)

We live in an era where a lot of people want prosperity without work. They want to sit down, fold their hands and wait for manna to fall from heaven. Some others claim to have very good ideas but no one has given them an opportunity or a platform to showcase themselves.

Dear friend, no one can ever believe in your dream more than you do, and no one can work it to fulfilment more than you.

People can only key into your dreams and ideas when they see how much you believe in it and how passionate you are in producing result. Even prospective investors would want to see you produce results before they can invest in it.

According to our reading, Potiphar, being the investor in this case, saw in Joseph, a man that not only had a dream, but a man who was going somewhere, and then invested in him.

Joseph was a man who would not accept limitations no matter what it was, that is why even in prison he continued developing himself to the extent that the keeper of the prison could commit other prisoners to his hand.

The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper. (Genesis 39:23)

He was confident that Joseph had everything under control, and other prisoners submitted to him because they saw an aura of leadership in him.

Joseph consistently and continuously developed himself that he became a consultant in dream interpretation.

Read Genesis 41:14-40.

How much have you Invested in yourself before complaining that you do not have a platform, or that you have not been given one?

When you develop yourself to a certain level, platforms and opportunities will begin to look for you.

Joseph did not beg for relevance or for a platform, he developed himself and the king sent for him “HASTILY”

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily… (Genesis 41:14)

When the king saw that Joseph was not only a man with vision, but also one that desired and produced results, he set him above all the land of Egypt.

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. (Genesis 41:41)

No wonder the Bible says in Proverbs 18:16:

A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Who will commit anything to a man that speaks without action or to the one that has too many claims but no proof? A talkaholic as I humourously call it.

Also in ministry, God expects us to be productive that is why Jesus said in Luke 2:49:

… How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

Even though He is God, He was busy going about healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. – Matthew 4:23.

No wonder the scripture admonishes us in Romans 12:11:

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

We must be fervent in whatever our hands find to do and not lazy about or make excuses.

Joseph was not a lazy man that is why the Bible says that the house of Potiphar prospered because of him.

The Bible speaking about the talents in Matthew 25:14-30, says to everyone that has shall be given and shall have in abundance but the lazy and unprofitable shall be punished (paraphrased).

To bear fruits or to be profitable, we are expected to do more but being sluggish or idle are character traits of fools because only a fool knows the right thing to do but refuses to do it.

It is my prayer that from today you will receive grace to accept responsibility in being diligent in doing the right thing and refuse to be sluggish, in Jesus Name.

It is well with you!
