The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. (Haggai 2:9, KJV)
Appearance does not always portray reality. And in most cases, it is very different from reality.
For instance, when we walk on a tarred road on a very sunny afternoon, we see something like a body of water ahead called a mirage.
A mirage is an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, especially the appearance of a sheet of water in a desert or on a hot road caused by the refraction of light from the sky by heated air.
Back in my primary school days when coming back from school, we would always try to catch up with the mirage on the road, but before we knew what was happening, we would have gotten home. The truth is, in trying to catch up with the mirage, we end up getting home faster. And all these we did unconsciously.
A mirage appears to be real but in reality it is actually not, because when we get to the point where we first saw it, it would have moved further up because it is an illusion, and that is exactly what life dishes us sometimes.
The challenges of life are all illusions that the devil tries to use to get us believe that God has forgotten us or that we will not fulfill destiny, all in a bid to cause us to loose faith.
There are times when we go through very trying situations and we begin to wonder within us if God has not abandoned us, that we forget that those trying times are mere illusions which would soon fizzled away if we keep moving.
I have seen people give up hope to start chasing shadows; the wrong things of life, all because they could no longer wait on God’s timing and in order to meet up with the standards of others, but they fail to realize that a lot of the time the things they see in others are actually a mirage because most of the time people only try to keep up appearances, but true riches actually comes from God.
“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” – (Proverbs 10:22)
I don’t know what you may be going through right now that seem not to have a solution, beloved, I’m here to tell you that it is a mirage that will soon pass. Just keep walking, and as chasing the mirage helps us get home faster without our knowing, those trying situations in your life today are meant to prepare you for glory ahead. So do not fret!
And perhaps you think where you are is just okay. That may be true, but Haggai 2:9 assures us that “The glory of this latter house shall be greater…”, so I dare to say that your best is yet to come.
Whichever way it is, we will always overcome the mirage of life if we keep moving.
I pray for you, in the Name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, everything that seem like a mirage in your life will lead you to succeed, in the Name of Jesus name!
Because trials are only a test of our faith, James 1:2-4, you will overcome, in Jesus Precious Name!
You are blessed!!!
Prayer Point: Father, I receive grace to keep my eyes focused on You, and not on the shadows of this life. And help me to stay stand strong during trials and challenges, in Jesus Precious Name. Amen!
